The 2022 award ceremony of the Pulcinella Awards was presented by Livio Beshir and Laura Carusino last June.
Italian and international industry key-players were part of the Pulcinella Awards jury: the art director Maurizio Forestieri; Marta Fijak, creative director Anshar Studios Inc; the author and illustrator Nicoletta Costa; Patricia Vasapollo, Head of Family, and Fiction HR-ARD; Sara Cabras, producer of TV series and cartoons at Rai Kids. For the short films jury there were: the director Francesco Cinquemani; the director of Ciak magazine, Flavio Natalia; finally Tim Willocks, author and film-maker.
The winner in the Feature Film Category – Pulcinella Awards 2022 is The Bad Guys – Too Bad – by Dreamworks Animation LLc. The award for the Short Film Categories was Yallah! by Rubika production.
In the New Adults Category, the winner was Unsung Women (France), by Zadig Productions, with this motivation from the jury: “For its sharp and entertaining look at gender inequality throughout history”. Swop wins the Kids Prize at the Pulcinella Awards 2022.
In the Preschool TV Series triumphs Mumfie, by Zodiak Kids Studio, in association with Animoka in France and Rai Ragazzi in Italy. Remaining in the preschool area, the prize in the Upper Preschool TV Series Category went to Food Wizards by Rai Ragazzi, Zocotoco, MAD Entertainment.
Theodosia, from Cottonwood Media, won in the Live Action and/or Hybrid TV Series Category. The Little Orquestra gained the TV Series Pilots Category.
The video game Elden Rings takes home the award for best Interactive Animation Work.
Several special mentions at the Pulcinella Awards 2022, first of all to the Feature Film Trunk Train for Best Animation. The Best Director went to Opal. Special mention for the Best Soundtrack goes to Bob Spit, while for the Best Screenplay goes to Belle. The Puffins win the Pulcinella Special Awards category.
